Snowkit - Snow - Snowpaw - Snowbird
RiverClan/Warrior
Twenty-Eight Moons
Appearance:
Snowbird appears tiny and delicate, as though someone plucked a normal sized kitten out of the litter and scaled it down a few notches. Her limbs are long and slight, giving her a sleek, flowing look despite her petite size. She is covered from her nose to the tip of her tail in soft, ivory fur. It is thick and short, and resembles a coat of freshly fallen snow that decided to settle on her shoulders. Her eyes are like a pair of golden coins set into a wall of frost, and they shine out dangerously from the monochrome blanket that is her pelt.
Personality:
Snowbird has no time for nonsense or games. As she is both diligent and meticulous, those who spend most of their time joking around or generally being silly will quickly lose her favor. To Snowbird, a fool is a useless creature, and she is more than happy to leave useless fools to their useless deaths. She understands not every cat has the skill or intelligence to look after themselves, but refuses to suffer those simply too stupid to try.
Practical and focused on survival above all else, Snowbird can often come off as uncaring or distant. Forging relationships with other cats falls far below the priorities of food, shelter, and safety. In the life this she-cat once led, there were few advantages to friendship, and as a result she still sees little need for it now. To Snowbird, other cats are complicated, bothersome things that take too much effort to understand. It is not impossible to earn Snowbird’s favor, however. Those who prove themselves useful or at the very least not completely hopeless at tasks Snowbird deems important can find themselves on the she-cat’s good side.
Although easily viewable as an uptight grouch, Snowbird does have a kindly side, though it is difficult to spot among her armor of practicality. She is sympathetic to those who have had a difficult past, so long as they do not complain or claim any hindrance because of it. Snowbird feels if she has suffered what she did and still manages to function, then other cats haven’t any excuse to not be able to do so as well. The she-cat also enjoys the company of cats who are genuinely and outwardly gracious to others. A personality trait she never has been able to master, she appreciates that it takes much to give up things for someone else and respects it.
History:
When Snowbird was just a kit, her mother decided to abandon RiverClan and take her children with her. She had conceived them with a nearby rogue cat, and while she had not revealed to the rest of the clan who the father of her kits was, she feared that one day her children would suffer for it. She decided it would be best for them if they went away to live with her mate. The tom agreed and the two set a meeting place for the little family to run away together.
But upon venturing away from RiverClan and into the unknown territories, her mate was nowhere to be found. She was unable to search for him with her young kits to take care of, and so she waited at the meeting place for several weeks. When it became clear to her that her mate was not going to come, she decided to remain a loner, too ashamed to return to RiverClan after her long absence.
Life has a loner was difficult, but Snowbird’s mother did her best to raise her children to survive in their new world. They got by begging from nearby Twolegs and fighting with other local cats for rights to territory and food. Although raised together, Snowbird and her siblings did not grow up to be very close to one another. Competition for resources was fierce, and sometimes even family had to fall by the wayside if one was to scrape by.
Eventually, when she was nine moons old, Snowbird’s mother revealed to her children where they had truly come from and why they had left. She worried that one day they would run into clan cats themselves, and wanted them to hear the truth from her rather than a stranger. While her siblings seemed indifferent to the news, Snowbird was charmed by the idea of a different life. She returned to RiverClan and petitioned the current leader to allow her to re-join the clan. Although some were a little wary of her initially, she was still named as an apprentice and accepted back into RiverClan’s ranks.
Though Snowbird received her warrior name somewhat later than her peers—having started her training a little late—she works hard to prove that she’s worthy of it. She may not be the most popular member of her clan, but she is happy to be a member of it, and always eager to show her loyalty however she can.
