The current season is leaf-fall. The next medicine cat meeting is October 25th. The next Gathering is on November 16th.

ThunderClan: Applepaw, Rosepaw, Snowpaw, and Shadowpaw are now apprentices.

RiverClan: Prey is fine, and RiverClan is doing well.

WindClan: Loner kits have been discovered on WindClan territory, and one is being treated for sickness.

ShadowClan: A fox was spotted on ShadowClan territory. Breezepaw was attacked by a rogue, and apprentices must now be accompanied by a warrior when leaving camp.

Mudpaw made his way about the camp, so far he wasn't sure on what to do. His sisters weren't around thankfully, so he was safe then. Just until they found him and then he would have to start running again. His stub of a tail was just following behind him, all he could do was stay quiet as he walked about. Unsure on what to do at the current time.

Taking a seat on the ground, Mudpaw glanced about nervously. Okay, what was there he could do? Nothing really. He couldn't leave camp and go hunting, he already had helped the elders by giving them fresh kill. He could talk to others of the clan but who though? Everyone was most likely busy, doing their duties or catching much deserved rest from hunting or patrolling the territory. Rising to his paws, Mudpaw took several more steps about as his ears twitched.

FEATHERFLURRY

Featherflurry was just told that he was to go out and go on a patrol, but he didn't want to venture out alone. Who knew what was out there, lurking about? Certainly not anything he wanted to run into, especially cats from any of the three remaining clans, or a badger of some sort.

to bad that everybody was to lazy to get off their rumps to come and talk with him while he made a quick run around the borders. these days were tough, and both the warriors and apprentices of his clan were usually rather lazy, because it was cold out.

shaking his head, the soot-colored tom padded out of the warriors den, looking up to the stars. "oh starclan, help us keep this clan moving" he meowed softly, and quietly so nobody but himself could hear.

placing one paw in front of the other, featherflurry gathered himself, puffed out his chest, and walked into the center of camp. "alright, who here wants to go for a quick border patrol? i'm not going alone, so one of you lazy warriors or apprentices best be getting up and coming with me" he meowed, the sound of annoyance clinging to his voice.

scanning the surrounding, he spotted mudpaw and smiled, trotting over to him.

the apprentice looked bored, but featherflurry couldn't say the same about himself. he was much too caught up in all the drama that was going on between the clans, that he had no time to waste when it came to making sure nobody was lurking in the shadows. his days of relaxing on the ice of the river were long gone, for now anyways.

shaking out his pelt, featherflurry gave a quick nod of his head, and flicked his tail in greeting. "hello mudpaw. how about you come with me? a little quality time between the deputy and his favorite apprentice?" he urged, a certian sweetness drifting out his maw.

okay, so maybe featherflurry was sugar-coating up to the tom, but so what? he was the only apprentice that he had seen so far that actually looked bored, and looked like he wanted to do something productive for himself.

smiling once again, featherflurry sat down and curled his tail around his paws, tilting his head and focusing bright orange orbs at mudpaw's.

Mudpaw stopped his walking around when he heard the Deputy's voice and he turned his gaze to him. He hadn't heard what the Deputy said prior to coming over due to trying to come up with something to do, but he guessed that it was either hunting patrol or training. After all, Poppystar was his mentor; which he was still stunned about.

"Yes Sir." Mudpaw answered as he turned around to go out of camp with the Deputy.

He wanted something to do and this was the closet that he could get to something. And it would be helpful what he was going to do. Although, he didn't understand why there was a sweeter way to the Deputy's words. Was that the right way to put it? Sweeter? Eh, didn't matter really. What mattered was the task at paw and that was either hunting or patrolling. Didn't matter which one though.

(ooc: newt did ask me in the chat if I wanted Poppystar to be Mudpaw's mentor and I agreed. I just wanted to clear that up for you in case you were confused by the post.)

"right, then" he purred, turning to the young tom. maybe he didn't need to be persuaded into coming with the deputy into the forest. did he actually think it was fun? maybe. featherflurry would probably never know, but it wasn't like he really cared all that much either.

halting to a stop at the edge of the border, feather turned towards mudpaw, shooting him a smile. "alright, where do you think we should start? your choice. we can make this as fun or as boring as you'd like to make it" he meowed, pawing at a stone gently.

the deputy had been around their territory and back about a million different times, so he was in no rush to get anywhere. it was all so familiar to him. that was the problem with being so used to your surroundings, or in other words being observant. it had it's perks and it's disadvantages.

closing his eyes and lifting his paw, featherflurry did the familiar taste of the air, to see if there was any immediate danger lurking around a corner. thankfully, there was nothing to be found.

looking back at mudpaw, feather looked back down with auburn eyes. "so, where would you like to start, mudpaw?"

Fun wasn't the word to use. It was educational and a chance to help out. Do something more for the clan and learn the things that he was one day going to know well. True a task for his mentor but no harm in some extra help right? Following after the deputy, he wondered what he had meant.

Let the apprentice decided? Fun way or boring as possible? Mudpaw honestly didn't have a clue on what the deputy was saying. Ears twitching as he glanced about, he tried to figure out what he meant. After a few minutes of thinking it over, Mudpaw's ears slanted as he looked back at the Deputy.

"I don't know Sir." Mudpaw answered as he stood there.

Well this was how he could screw up. Most likely the deputy would laugh and scold him in some way. At least he was honest with the tom.

The tom smiled, but didn't judge. him himself was once an apprentice, and he wasn't about to make fun of something that he would of done when he was younger.

clearing his throat before speaking, featherflurry made sure that he was fine with the apprentices' 'mistake' and dismissed it quickly. "alright, should we go to the border closest to the place where twolegs spend their greenleaf, the shadowclan borders, or should we go inspect the horse place?" he asked. He would still give him the choice, even if he had to explain it to him more thoroughly. featherflurry pressed his paw gently into a rock and pressed down, creating a dent in the dirt under his paws.

"and after the fun parts we will go to the marsh, closer to the island so you can take a sneak-peek. of course, though, you'll have a better look at that later on, as you are poppystars' apprentice. I can only assume that you'll be going to gatherings quite a bit." he noted, trailing off and letting thoughts flow out of his throat.

Mudpaw stood there and thought the choices over. At least he didn't end up getting snapped at or anything. He was glad that didn't end up happening, but he was kind of expecting it to happen. Oh well.

Turning his gaze away from the deputy he thought it over. What would be best to do first? Not because of fun or anything like that. It was always best to think things over right? Not to just jump into them head first. Finally he came to a decision and turned his gaze back to the Deputy.

"The border of Shadow Clan." Mudpaw answered, best learn borders of clans first no?

He cocked his head to the deputy's remark about him going to the gatherings often. Why did he think that? Was being Poppystar's apprentice meaning that he would go to the gathering more?

"Why's that?" Mudpaw asked with his head still cocked.
